Homeopathy in Bristol at the Chiron Centre
Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine which is safe, effective and holistic: it treats the whole person, not just the organ affected. It seeks to understand the root cause of the symptoms and stimulates the body’s own healing capacity.
Homeopathic medicines are natural and sustainable and are made from substances originated from plants, animals or minerals. They are non-addictive and have no dangerous side-effects. Homeopathic remedies can be taken alongside a conventional treatment, and often help to alleviate side-effects.
Homeopathy can be used in first-aid and acute situations as well as for chronic complaints. Homeopaths are often consulted for:
Eczema and other skin issues;
Digestive issues (e.g. constipation, IBS, diarrhoea);
Long-term effects of acute diseases;
Headaches and migraines;
Menstrual issues, menopause;
Emotional problems such as grief or depression;
Hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder, ADHD;
During the consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss your complaints in a safe and non-judgmental environment. You will also be asked a range of questions regarding your medical history, general health and other aspects of your life such as appetite, sleep, fears and other emotional symptoms. This enables the homeopath to select the most appropriate remedy for you, which will then be sent to you by post a day or two after the consultation.
Homeopathy is based on the principle of “like cures like”. That is, a substance which causes symptoms in its crude form, can treat those same symptoms in a small dose. For example, coffee can cause sleep issues but the remedy Coffea (which is made from coffee) can treat similar sleep issues.
It is used by over 200 million people world-wide and can be used safely by anyone, from babies and children to adults, including women during pregnancy. Two centuries of practice, research and experiments have proved the safety of this system of medicine.
